Why Time (reference) is the candidate
Time (reference) passed every step in Cursor. It is the group’s site-wide candidate (judged 2026-10-21): Returned the current UTC time in both Claude Code and Cursor in 2 calls in total, from a local server with no network or key. Time MCP (yokingma) and MCP Time (TheoBrigitte) also passed both with 2 calls each, and Viajante passed its airport lookup with 2 calls, so this is a tie; Time gets the nod for the smallest tool list (2, vs 5 for MCP Time and 6 for Time MCP). On Oct 19 Time 2026.10.19 (new release) was retested and passed again in Claude Code and Cursor. Confirmed Oct 21, 2026: a second run in Claude Code and Cursor on mcp-server-time 2026.10.19 passed again.
