SpicyAPI MCP

Official local MCP server for SpicyAPI, a pay-per-use API for 200+ image, video, audio and chat models: lets Claude, Cursor, Codex and other MCP clients browse the model catalog, get a US-dollar quote, upload files, and create and collect generation tasks. Paid steps ask the user to confirm first.

Install

claude mcp add spicyapi -e SPICY_API_KEY=$SPICY_API_KEY -- npx --yes --package=@spicyapi/mcp spicyapi-mcp

Needs Node.js 22.13+ and a key starting sk-spicy- from the SpicyAPI console. The --package flag is required because the package ships two binaries.

      "env": { "SPICY_API_KEY": "YOUR_SPICY_API_KEY" }
    }
  }
}

Save in ~/.cursor/mcp.json (user level, so the key is not committed). Not yet confirmed by us.
