Our test
The free public Reading works without an account: the 3 briefs we checked linked to real original sources whose publish times matched exactly, and the main claims we checked were in the source. The catch: small slips, like a talk called a podcast and an English page showing a timeline in Chinese.

What we tested
- Open the public Reading page and a brief without signing in PassReading for 2026-10-26 showed 29 briefs, each with a publish time and a Sources line; briefs open without an account.
- Follow each brief's original source and check the date (3 briefs) PassAll 3 source links worked (2 YouTube videos, 1 South China Morning Post article) and the shown publish times matched the sources exactly after time-zone conversion.
- Check the brief's claims against the source PassThe Wang Jian brief's main claims are in the SCMP interview. Small slips: one brief calls a conference talk a podcast, and a topic timeline on the English page is in Chinese with a placeholder-looking date.
