Why Jupyter MCP is the candidate

Jupyter MCP passed every step in Cursor. It is the group’s site-wide candidate (judged 2026-10-21): Ran print(6*7) in a Jupyter kernel and returned 42 in both Claude Code and Cursor (3 calls in total). It needs a running Jupyter server with a token, and it failed in ChatGPT (Codex). MCP Run Python (Pydantic) also passed both clients with 2 calls, but its repo is archived, so it can't be a pick under our rule. No runner-up: MCP Python Interpreter failed to start in both clients on Oct 15. Confirmed Oct 21, 2026: a second run in Claude Code and Cursor passed again (jupyter-mcp-server 2.2.4).
