Anthropic skill: skill-creator not working in Claude Code? Fixes
Inconclusive Our test on Oct 21, 2026 was inconclusive. Below is the exact setup we used in Claude Code (2.1.296 (Claude Code)), every error we saw, and what to check, all from our own run log.

1. Install it where Claude Code looks for skills
We installed the skill folder at .claude/skills/skill-creator from github.com/anthropics/skills @ dbd4588f (path skills/skill-creator in the repo).
2. Invoke it by name
We ran it as Claude Code /skill-creator.
3. Check the skill actually loaded
Skill loaded in our run: yes. How we checked: Claude Code: Skill tool call or a tool call on the skill folder; Cursor: a tool call touching the skill folder.
Other copies visible
Other copies of the skill were visible to Claude Code: anthropic-skills:skill-creator. Remove duplicates so the right one loads.
Errors we observed
- output check: no greeting-card/SKILL.md created
- result reason: harness: Claude Code blocked the Write into .claude/skills/greeting-card/ (it protects the .claude/ folder even with --permission-mode acceptEdits and explicit Write(.claude/skills/**) rules). The skill was loaded and the agent drafted a valid SKILL.md (name greeting-card, description with the tag)…
